This site is written from the perspective of someone who has been around software for more than four decades, going back to the 8-bit era. The important part is not the resume. It is the vantage point: enough time inside the craft to know what the old mental furniture of computing feels like—and to notice when it stopped fitting.
The old rules were built on determinism. You wrote a line of code, and it did exactly what you told it to do. We spent decades perfecting the art of removing variance. We treated entropy as the enemy. Then a few years ago, a dumb little chatbot did something I had never seen software do before, and the furniture started moving on its own.

We are no longer just building tools. We are deploying autonomous cognitive systems into a high-entropy environment. If you try to control everything, you stifle the intelligence. If you control nothing, you have a hallucinating mess. The interesting work lives in the gap—precision-engineered entropy. Chaos with a direction.
This site is not a news feed and it is not a polished institutional publication. It is a collection of first-principles thinking, half-baked theories, architectural experiments that may or may not be crazy, and field notes from someone who has seen the industry change four times over and is now trying to figure out how to aim the fifth. Some of these ideas will turn out to be wrong. Some might turn out to be useful. Most of the posts are technical. Some are philosophical. Most are both, because I do not think the line between those two categories is holding very well anymore.

The name is pretty literal. These systems produce a lot of generative chaos on contact. The job, as I see it, is to give that chaos a direction. Build enough structure around it that it becomes useful. Maybe even beautiful if you're lucky. That is where a lot of the work lives now.
I might be wrong about parts of all this. Probably wrong about more than I realize. But I do not think I am wrong that something fundamental shifted, and that it is worth trying to describe that shift honestly while it is happening.
